Process Engineer (Woburn, MA)
Generate process block diagram based on process requirements, URS and conceptual design for Bio-pharmaceutical processes. Design and review P&IDs, Isometric drawings, CIP flow paths and IFC documents. Review PFD’s and generate P&IDs and FRS for process systems. Review Devise Sequence charts. Generate P&ID’s for RODI, WFI, Clean Steam, Autoclave, Parts-washer and CIP skids. Review CADWorx 3D models and corresponding P&ID’s for various TCUs. Review CIP documents, align strategy with current manufacturing process, perform process calculations and simulations using fluid dynamic simulation software (e.g. AFT Fathom) and create strategy for flow path determination. Calculate the parameters and flow velocity requirements for turbulent flow regime in each of the flow paths and for cycle development. Use Riboflavin sprayball tests results for finalizing the flow, velocity, pressure drops and time duration required for successful CIP. Finalize the automation code for CIP/SIP cycle development and Process Systems. Conduct process calculations, hydraulic calculations, heat transfer calculations, and equipment sizing calculations and incorporate them into instrument and equipment specifications. Supervise Installation, Start-Up, Debug, Commission and troubleshoot process skids and clean utilities skids. Generate pre-commissioning and commissioning protocols for installation and operations of process skids. Troubleshoot design related process issues with process skids. Generate protocols for FAT, SAT and Validation, including IQ, OQ & PQ for Bio-pharmaceutical upstream and downstream processes. Review technical drawings, answer RFIs, and perform on-site inspections and reviews. Maintain and update ETOP.
Req. master’s in chemical engineering or related field plus two years of experience in a position involving similar duties/technical capabilities.
